This piece came to us with a pretty cool story. It used to sit in a popular neighborhood bar in a small town, and when the bar closed, they auctioned it off to that bar's regulars. Unfortunately, it somehow came to its demise with the new owners and completely broke in half. We will be putting it back together and repainting it to help it look like the damage never occurred.
Finally finished, these wedding candlesticks have been restored to perfection. After the wedding reception, these candlesticks were lost and then found years later packed away- they've now been fixed and returned to their very happy owner.
A refinished memorial plaque in the process of being painted- after the letters are filled in, it will be lacquered.
This beautiful Baroque revival sterling frame was chosen by a customer to be engraved with her initials. The center medallion was damaged, so we replaced it with a raw piece of silver and hammered it into place, soldered it and shaped it to mimic the original piece. The finished result looks as if it were the original piece. Polished and lacquered, it looks lovely. This kind of fine detail work is something we excel at here at Chelsea, as well as large heavy repair work.
This extensive silver repair was brought in recently- these wedding candlesticks will need to have the resin replaced, cups reshaped, and other major repairs and restorations done before they'll be completely fixed.
Here at Chelsea we do both simple and full porcelain and ceramic restoration. This vase is actually a lamp that broke and is in the process of being fully restored- once finished, you won't be able to tell it ever broke. The next step will be to fill in the cracking, and then hand paint the fills with color matched paints. There are a lot of steps left to get this piece looking like new, but it's looking a lot better than it was.
